First off, we must tell you HAPPY NEW YEAR! We have had an amazing 2012 and hope you did as well!
The new year begins with a whole new set of trends but it’s always good to reflect on the old in order to grow for the new! There was not a dull moment in fashion last year, so join us while we take a look back at a year’s worth of fashion bliss!
Prints & Graphics
2012 was big on making a statement with playful prints and graphics. We saw an immense amount of head to toe prints for the spring and numerous red carpet events. We also saw the popularity of print leggings along with print blouses and handbags. Graphic tees were also a huge hit. Big up to Givenchy graphic tees for keeping us casual yet stylish at all times!
Mesh
Mesh was a hit year round, even in the colder months. It held on for dear fashion life! There’s nothing sexier than having a sneak peak party going on with your outfit. We saw the mesh effect in party dresses and a lot in the wonderful fun land of leggings.
Cut off tops and midriff tops
Letting it all out seemed less risqué this year. The trend of the crop top look leaped and never came down. Paired with any type of bottom we were a sucker for this trend.
Neon’s and pastels
Bright was the name of the game. Neons met the sun rays with its immaculate color and pastels were delicately worn with gentle dresses and soft tops. Never a dull moment, these trends kept fashion pieces in the spotlight.
Embellished Collars
Our favorite accessory trend of the year goes to the, embellished collar. We hit on this trend a couple of times on PinkGrasshopper! We love the eye-catching piece, such a simple addition to any outfit yet so remarkably glam! This is what we call a simple fix to a great look!
Suit Pants
Suits pants (and flashy suits in general) were one of the biggest trends of Fall 2012. The tailored- fit look made a great outfit for any event, day or night. Even without the entire ensemble, the trouser pant was a great choice to make! Slim fitting, straight to the point and comfortable this was a must have look for 2012!
What was YOUR favorite trend of 2012? We’re looking forward to jumping into the spring collection of 2013!!
